Q:  What is The Exploding Madonna?
A:
Not a cult, nor a way of life, The Exploding Madonna are:

Paul Burdack           guitar, synthesizer, samples
Mike Coleman          drums, synthesizer, samples
Christian Fabian      bass guitar, synthesizer, vocals

Emitting forth a behemothic display of neurophonic energy laced with
sci-fi overtones of a macabre nature, The Exploding Madonna officially
employ gratuitous and unapologetic use of numerous effects and various
sundry noise-makers in their efforts to create a vast and textured
surrealistic soundscape reminiscent of a Salvador Dali painting.

The Exploding Madonna began sometime in 2002 morphing through
several different line-ups bearing the names
Slugom Eht and later The
Orchard Keeper
(or Orchardkeepers, depending on who you ask).  The
early incarnations played mostly improvisational pieces and the group
was moderately unencumbered with structure and rules. Summer 2003
saw the appearance of Mike Coleman as the new drummer of the band
and a more epistemological and sound approach to songwriting.

Currently the band has a bilateral focus, on one hand playing and
recording live improvisations/sound fields, and on the other, carefully
writing and recording structured and focused pieces.
